VILLA GAIA LARNAKA
Named after the personalisation of Earth in the Greek Mythology, Villa Gaia embraces earthy tones and materiality. The large openings and niches create a fluid transition between the rooms and the exterior.
The material palette consists of polished limewash plaster with an earthy mineral pigment, with parts clad in rock face TOM for the walls. The floors, a combination of natural stone and naked wood, contribute to an architectural composition that is true to the client’s brief, to create a home that is rooted in sustainability, natural materials, comfortable, and private.
On the ground level open living space, bifold doors lead to the terraces and the garden. The three bedrooms are located three steps higher to give an extra layer of privacy, whilst the office/ guest room is located three steps lower than the living room, following the natural terrain of the plot, creating a seamless flow to the layout.
Carefully positioned windows and roof lights, provide ‘green views’ and invite daylight, whilst distinctive sliding louvre systems on the street façade offer glimpses inside while ensuring privacy.
